The Festival in Banff, Alberta:
The annual Banff Mountain Film Festival (held in Banff, Alberta Canada from October 28th to November 5th, 2023) accepts over three hundred mountain films into it's competition, the top fifty or so are screened throughout the festival. Every year the films feature a range of styles and themes, including climbing, skiing, kayaking, biking, adventure, culture and the environment.
Film competition prizes are awarded in ten categories: Grand Prize | Exploration and Adventure | Climbing | Mountain Sports | Environment | Short Mountain Film | Feature-Length Mountain Film | Snow Sports | Creative Excellence | and Audience Choice Award. The international jury will announce the Best of the Festival award winners at the awards ceremony on the last day of the festival.
